The backpack and school supply giveaway event at Zone Rec Center on August 7 was very successful.
Story Church/TBFS were represented by a number of volunteers. 50 backpacks full of school supplies were given away, as well as 100 yoyo’s with TBFS information on them.
Volunteers engaged with many families. Having three different games to help entertain the kids was certainly helpful. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped that day - it was HOT! Our RRUMC volunteers, Dave, Don, Diane, and Jennifer learned how to survive in extreme heat and humidity. The weather did not seem to slow the children down at all with their joy and enthusiasm for life and play.
