Unseen: Seeing Past the Labels

9/13/2026 - 16th Sunday after Pentecost. Pastor Paul Bennett is preaching “Unseen: ​Seeing Past the Labels,” based on ​John 4:1-42.

​If its not hard enough trying to see past our screens and busy schedules, we then face the challenge of seeing past our own biases.

As we encounter countless unique people each day, it is natural to categorize them in our heads, to attach labels.

What we must not do is allow such labels to deter us from seeing God’s image within them, or to cause us to value them differently than others.

Jesus’s entire ministry was a lesson in rejecting such innate, sinful tendencies, with His encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well one of the highlights.

How can Jesus’ example help us reclaim, in our hearts and minds, the reality that all are indeed precious in His sight?
