Overcoming the Baggage of Fear: Smooth Sailing Ahead
6/21/2026 - Fourth Sunday after Pentecost. Father’s Day. Rev. Daniel F. Bogre will continue the sermon series, “Baggage Claim: Living Light in a Heavy World,” with the sermon, “Overcoming the Baggage of Fear: Smooth Sailing Ahead,” based on Romans 8:12-17.
God did not give us a spirit of fear.
Instead, He equips us with the tools to confront our anxieties and replace them with His peace.
Fear often paralyzes us, creating heavy baggage that keeps us from fulfilling God's calling on our lives.
However, God enables us to let go of this burden and use our struggles to draw closer to Him.
Through our spiritual inheritance, we are promised power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
The ultimate antidote to fear is prayer and trust; by turning our anxieties into prayers, we can rest securely in the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).
