Integrity vs. Fear: Those Eyes

12th Sunday after Pentecost and Labor Day Weekend. Rev. Daniel F. Bogre will conclude the sermon series, “Integrity vs. Fear,” with the sermon “Those Eyes” based on Acts 5:1-11.

God is always watching us.

God does not watch us to condemn, convict, and punish.

God watches us out of love, the way a parent watches out for a young child.

Ananias and Sapphira thought no one was looking when they decided to cheat the Lord our of what was rightly to be given to God. When confronted with their sin, they lied.

They lied at separate times and both had the opportunity to tell the truth and possibly have a way out. The sin compounded by the lies led to their death. We will make mistakes. We will sin. How can we make sure we never miss the opportunity for God’s way out? Which eyes do you see when God is looking at you?
