Integrity vs. Fear: But…But…But…

8th Sunday after Pentecost and Communion Sunday. Rev. Daniel F. Bogre will begin the sermon series, “Integrity vs. Fear,” with a sermon based on Exodus 32:1-8 & 19-24.

Fear God or fear the people?

That is what Aaron was faced with at the foot of the mountain when Moses left him to chat with God.

The people were angry. The people who were below him. He was their leader while Moses was gone.

How much longer will we be in the wilderness? What is this Promised Land? Did Moses die up there? What is taking so long?

The mob was forming. Aaron knew that he should not create a false God for the people to worship, but the people were really angry.

That word “BUT” sure contains a lot things, doesn’t it.

What was wrapped up in that word for Aaron? What won in the end for Aaron, integrity or fear? What will win when we face the “buts” of our lives?
