That’s a Lot To Ask: God, You Want Me To Do What?

2nd Sunday after Pentecost. Rev. Daniel F. Bogre will continue the sermon series, “That’s a Lot To Ask,” with the sermon, “God, You Want Me To Do What?,” based on 2 Kings 9:1-13.

Have you ever asked God that question after God has asked you to do something in your life?

Do you act like God is not talking to you?

Do you act as if you cannot hear God calling to you in your life simply because the task just seems too incredible?

I would challenge all of us with this thought. If we are not doing something in our lives that absolutely requires a miracle movement of God, are we truly living life at all?

In this text today I cannot imagine what that young messenger must have been thinking as he is sent to anoint a new king.

I want something in my life that always makes me rely on God to make it a reality.

I hope you do too.

What can we learn from this young messenger that helps us to lean into God’s call on our lives once again or for the very first time.

May you say to God, “God, you want me to do what?!
