On that night when Jesus washed the disciple’s feet, I can picture how physically low he needed to get in order to serve them as he washed their feet. After doing that he would have to rise to make it back to his place at the table. I think all the way back to Ash Wednesday.
We repented in dust and ashes but Jesus Christ is going this Holy Week to remind us that in his suffering, death, and resurrection WE RISE! We do not remain in the ashes, WE RISE!
