Grief touches every part of life, and no two journeys look the same.
At Rocky River United Methodist Church and Story Church, our Grief Care ministry offers a safe, faith-based space for individuals to find solace, prayer, and companionship as they navigate the many forms of loss.
Grief Care meetings are held individually, providing a quiet and confidential time to share devotions, prayer, and the comfort of friendship. Each conversation is shaped around the unique needs of the person who comes—honoring their pace, their story, and the tender places where healing is still unfolding.
Whether someone is grieving the death of a loved one, a major life change, or another deep loss, they are met with compassion and confidentiality. In addition to individual support, we offer quarterly potluck gatherings in the church library. These gentle group moments allow participants to share, listen, and connect with others who understand the complexities of grief. Our next potluck will be held Thursday, September 10 at 5:30pm.
If you or someone you know is seeking a safe place to talk, pray, and find comfort along the grief journey, please contact Lynn Gorton, CLM, Faith Community Health Professional, at lgorton@rrumc.org. You are not alone. We are here to walk with you.
