Dear Friends and Family of Rocky River United Methodist Church and Story Church,
Our church is changing lives and helping people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their story. I am incredibly proud to serve this wonderful congregation.
As I shared in the past, we recently received the “Fresh Starts Multiplier Award” from the Ohio Episcopal Area. This prestigious award recognizes churches that:
Launch or partner in launching a new church, campus, or fresh expression within the last three years.
Demonstrate innovative outreach to those not currently connected to a church, with a focus on making younger, more diverse disciples.
Collaborate with other churches, planters, or networks to expand ministry reach.
Live out a missional identity that includes sending, multiplying, and raising up leaders.
Support church planting through resources, prayer, or coaching.
Our congregation received this honor because of the incredible work happening at our Story Church campus on the west side of Cleveland. This award is a testament to the fact that we are truly making a difference in our community.
God is also moving at our main campus in Rocky River in so many life-transforming ways just in 2026:
Upward Sports used basketball and cheerleading to help 325 children and youth encounter Christ.
Cruisin’ River Car Cruise reached hundreds of neighbors right in our main parking lot.
Vacation Bible School (VBS) brought the Gospel to over 100 children, supported by countless dedicated volunteers this summer.
Our Youth Group traveled to Cincinnati for a mission trip that transformed both the local community and the lives of our students.
While I wish I could share all the incredible stories of how RRUMC is impacting lives, we simply do not have enough room in this short article. What it ultimately comes down to is this: we cannot do this vital work without your prayers, your presence, your service, and your financial support.
We are now entering the season of Consecration Sunday, which will take place on November 15th. "Consecration" means "to give over to the Lord’s service." This is a season where we ask everyone to prayerfully reflect on how God is calling them to financially support our life-changing ministries.
Please keep an eye on your mailbox at home.
You will soon receive a letter from me containing an Estimate of Giving Card. We invite you to bring this card forward as a gift to God during any of our three services on November 15th. If you cannot attend in person, you can also mail it back to the church or scan and email it to bookkeeper@rrumc.org.
Thank you for your past faithfulness and thank you in advance for your ongoing commitment in 2027. We have another incredible year ahead of us, and I know God has great plans for RRUMC.
You are an amazing church!
Peace and blessings,
Rev. Dan
