STORY CONNECTIONS TO LOVING GOD – DISCIPLESHIP
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Ephesians 3:16-17a
At RRUMC, we exist to help people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their story. We believe that each of us has a story that can be understood and lived out in a powerful way. We believe, however, that we must first study and engage God’s story for all humankind as a glorious backdrop, before we can truly appreciate what God has in store for us in our own unique stories.
As our stories begin to take shape amid the canvas of God’s incredible plan for all humanity, we find ourselves drawn to a new way of living. We begin to follow Jesus, to become his disciples in this world. The path of discipleship is colorfully introduced to our children and youth in Sunday school and other programming. It is reinforced for all from the pulpit, but it is the adult offerings which unveil opportunities for lifelong growth and discipleship.
It is our Bible studies that introduce us to the beautiful picture of God’s story as it comes alive through his Holy Word. And it is our Core Groups that help us come alongside others and do life together, as we connect our knowledge of God’s story with the experience of our own.
Our Story Connection Class is a great way to familiarize yourself with the discipleship process. But this truly is just the beginning of the journey, for the path of discipleship, just like a lifestyle of following Christ, never ends.

CORE GROUPS AND STUDIES
The Core Groups will help you navigate your journey from visitor to disciple with the fellowship and support of others. Many of our Core Groups are ongoing and new attendees are welcome to join at any time. Feel free to try multiple Core Groups before you settle into one. And while we encourage regular, ongoing attendance to accomplish the formation of meaningful relationships and true growth, we understand circumstances and needs change over time.
Please don’t feel your Core Group participation is an irreversible lifelong commitment. We just want you find a comfortable place to grow and learn amongst others.
