Nursery School News: Celebrating Growth & Looking Ahead

by Margery Wanosik rrumns@gmail.com

May can often become a blur with so many exciting activities and programs on the books that we blink as teachers and it's the last day of school.

The school will host several Spring Shows for parents and grandparents, Guest Reader programs will finish up, and many long standing projects will be buttoned up and sent home with the children.

There is always a certain excitement that grows as the children sense the shifting of the seasons. There is lots of playground time in the spring and last memories made before we depart for summer vacation. Students who are off to kindergarten in the fall will finish up their time here at RRUMNS and those who will be returning still have a bit more time with us teachers.

The letters and the numbers, the colors and the shapes are all great and important things that the children learn while at nursery school- but it's the friendships that are so key to helping these young people grow into ready and able kids. All the shared stories during lunch bunch, the games of tag on the playground, and the small chit chat at the art table are truly the memories that the children remember best!

Here's to a great summer & we'll see you in the fall. That being said, the Nursery School still has a few spots available in the M-W 3s class. Please help us spread the word about our wonderful little school.

Let us revisit our school quote this year:

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
— Benjamin Franklin
