Rise Against Hunger Experience

The meals we packaged at our Rise Against Hunger Experience are on their way to the Philippines.

This environmentally disaster-prone country in Southeast Asia consists of over 7,000 islands in the Pacific Ocean’s Ring of Fire. Displacement and major losses of livelihoods and infrastructure are common, and these events disproportionately affect poor rural communities that rely on agriculture and fishing.

The Philippines is classified by the Global Hunger Index as having a “moderate” level of hunger. To help address food insecurity among children, families, and communities, Rise Against Hunger partners with organizations that provide meals through schools and early childhood development centers, which are often a child’s primary source of nutrition.

This work is a key part of Rise Against Hunger’s Nourishing Lives pathway.

The meals you packaged will help ensure that children have access to the consistent nourishment they need to live healthy lives and successfully pursue their education.
