Reflections by Rev. Dan Bogre

Dear Friends and Family of RRUMC,

The Holy Spirit. We often speak of the “Triune God”—the three-in-one mystery of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Lately, the Holy Spirit has been heavy on my heart and mind. In Hebrew, the word for Spirit, wind, and breath is the beautiful word, “Ruach.”

In the Gospel of John, Jesus tells the disciples that God will send the Holy Spirit after He is gone. Why? Jesus explains in John 14:26:

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

The Spirit is our teacher and our constant reminder of Jesus’ words.

I truly feel that, in 2026, the absolute power and strength of that Holy Spirit has been unleashed in our church. We are welcoming new faces every Saturday and Sunday—and they are coming back. When I am out in the community, people stop to thank me for our Car Cruises, our Upward Sports ministry, and the Twice Blessed Free Store. There is a fresh “Holy Wind” filling our church, reminiscent of that first Pentecost Sunday.

As I shared in my last Circuit Rider, we are seeing double-digit growth across both of our campuses. This isn’t by accident. RRUMC is working passionately and beautifully to help people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their story.

This is the perfect moment to invite that person God has placed on your heart. The Holy Spirit is moving—don’t miss out on it!

See you in church…
Peace and blessings,
Rev. Dan
