Walk With Us Through Holy Week at RRUMC

Holy Week is one of the most meaningful and sacred times in the Christian calendar, inviting us to walk closely with Jesus through the final days of His earthly ministry, His sacrifice, and the joy of His resurrection.

At Rocky River United Methodist Church, we welcome you to experience this powerful journey with us through a series of worship opportunities designed to reflect, remember, and rejoice together.

Journey Through Holy Week at RRUMC

Beginning on Maundy Thursday, April 2, we gather to remember the Last Supper, where Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples and demonstrated the depth of His love through humble service. This solemn and reflective service invites us into a space of gratitude and reverence as we consider Christ’s command to love one another. Join us for a service in Avalon Hall at the Breakwater Apartments at the Normandy, 22701 Lake Rd., Rocky River.

On Good Friday, we pause to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Visit the Chapel from noon-4:00pm for quiet contemplation, scripture, and prayer as we acknowledge the weight of this moment and the profound love poured out for all of humanity. It is a powerful reminder that even in darkness, God is at work.

Our Easter Prayer Vigil begins on Good Friday, April 3, 4:00pm through Easter Sunday morning, April 5, 8:00am there will be an around-the-clock prayer vigil in the Chapel.

There will be hands-on activities to ensure that adults and children can experience this time together in a positive way.

Easter Saturday Worship at Story Church - Join us as we gather in anticipation of the resurrection at 10:00am. This meaningful service offers a peaceful moment to reflect, reconnect, and prepare our hearts for Easter Sunday in a welcoming and uplifting setting.

Celebrate the Joy of Easter Sunday

After the reflection of Holy Week, we come together on Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope, renewal, and victory it brings.

RRUMC offers a variety of Easter worship opportunities so that all may join in this joyful celebration:

  • Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30am – Begin the day at Rocky River Park with a meaningful outdoor gathering as we welcome the risen Christ at daybreak.

  • Traditional Worship Services at 8:30am, 10:00am, and 11:25am– Experience the beauty of Easter through inspiring music, scripture, and a message of hope. Streaming options are available for our 10:00am and 11:25am services.

No matter which service you attend, Easter at RRUMC is a time to rejoice in the promise of new life and the enduring presence of God’s love.
