Greetings from Story Church and Twice Blessed Free Store
by Lisa Thomas, Pastor of Story Church and Director of TBFS
As we move closer to spring, there is a real sense of gratitude and hope bubbling up here at Story Church.
Even in the midst of these cold days and long winter nights, God continues to provide, connect, and surprise us in beautiful ways.
One of the most meaningful joys this month has been the incredible generosity shown toward our growing food ministry. We want to offer a heartfelt thank you to the donors who have contributed financially and to those who purchased refrigerators for Meals on Madison and for our new food ministry here at Story Church.
These gifts are already making a difference by helping us serve our neighbors with dignity, consistency, and care. Because of you, we are better equipped to meet real needs in real time.
We also want to share a few important dates and opportunities to stay connected:
Community Block Party: August 15
Fall Fest: October 17
Christmas Party: December 12
In addition to these special events, we continue to gather for Community Meals on the third Sunday of every month at 5:00 pm. These meals are moments where we can share fellowship, conversation, and grace around the table.
You’re also invited to Thursdays with the Pastors, held on the third Thursday of each month from 11:00 am–12:30 pm. This is a relaxed, welcoming space to ask questions, share stories, and simply be present together. We offer emotional, moral, and spiritual support in whatever you are going through. If you need to talk, we are here to listen.
We also have a few important role updates to share:
Lisa Thomas is now serving as the Campus Pastor of Story Church and can be reached at LThomas@rrumc.org.
Jason Kraft is now the Twice Blessed Free Store Director and can be reached at JKraft@rrumc.org.
Both are excited and honored to continue serving this campus and community.
With deep gratitude, we also want to thank Pastor Lynn Gorton for her incredible leadership and dedication to Story Church and Twice Blessed Free Store. Lynn has been instrumental in shaping this ministry from the very beginning.
As she now focuses more of her energy on the main campus and her passion for health ministry, we offer our prayers and appreciation. We are thankful for her continued support and hope she will keep visiting us often. We are better because of her!
And finally, we are very much looking forward to Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 8. More sunlight feels like a gift this time of year—a beautiful and gentle reminder that longer days and new life are on the way. We can’t wait!
Also, none of this would be possible without our volunteers. To every person who has shown up, served faithfully, and given generously of their time, we thank you. A special word of appreciation goes to our Vision Team, who continue to hold us accountable, grounded, and focused on where God is leading this campus. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
Thank you for being part of the Story Church and Twice Blessed Free Store story. We are so grateful to walk this journey together.
With gratitude and hope,
Pastor Lisa Thomas
