Our “Letter of the Week” program started a few weeks ago—so we have begun the alphabet anew!
Regardless of the class the children are in, we are all talking about "D" in the same week. Recognizing the letter “D,” learning the sound it makes, understanding the difference between uppercase “D” and lowercase “d,” and practicing how to write it are all skills the children are working on during the same week at our school. We will use a variety of strategies to create lasting connections with the shape of the letter “D.” Using manipulatives and common items with straight and curved lines, the children will explore and create the letter in meaningful, hands-on ways.
Halloween is always a big hit with the kiddos, and this year will be no exception! The amount of fun to be had by all during this time of year is followed only by the endless new art projects. Stop by to check out all the masterpieces beginning to fill the school hallways, including the wacky and wonderful “Zoo” courtesy of our Pre-K students!
RRUMNS is a special school filled with special people, big and small, who care about learning and each other. It is a wonderful mission housed right here in the church, serving many families throughout the greater West Side communities.
The staff is excited to build deeper connections with the people we meet throughout the school year and to engage in direct, meaningful ways so that RRUMNS remains a place of safety and positivity. It is a place that people remember fondly, not only while they are here but long after their children have moved on. It is a place that always feels like home, a place where people want to be.
