Nursery School News

by Margery Wanosik, NS Co-director

Good Morning Rocky River United Methodist Congregation,

The nursery school students have had a busy winter with lots of activities and fun. Valentine’s Day was a huge hit with love and hearts galore; while bingo in the cafe with candy hearts ended the day. Our students are continuing to work on letter recognition, letter tracing and writing, and the sounds for each.

The 3s children have grown so much that some are starting to look like PreK students!

As March swings into gear, the teachers look to St. Patrick’s Day and Easter for art inspiration. Our hallways will slowly swell with pastels and greens, while winter projects will start to go home. PreK is winding down a fun space unit. Young children really love this topic and it is quite easy to fill the days with great questions and wonder about the moon, sun, and the stars. Conferences were held March 8 and 9 to give parents the opportunity to come into school and discuss their child’s progress with the teachers. We had very high participation with this and it is always a nice day to connect with the families of our school and church.

Our PreK class for 2023- 2024 still has openings. The Nursery School is a wonderful part of RRUMC and we feel grateful to be here providing a solid foundation for our youngest members.

Wishing everyone a very blessed Lenten season and a Happy Easter Day.
